The Latin America Club Scholarship is one of the most exciting initiatives of the Latin America Club at London Business School. As you may know, the first Latin America Club Scholarship was initiated and awarded by the MBA classes of 2006 and 2007 to Soledad Garzon (MBA2008) and Ignacio del Rio (MBA2009) respectively.   Both, Soledad and Ignacio have been very involved in the Club since they started their programmes, and together with other students, are now looking for a sustainable way to secure the funds to continue with this amazing scholarship.

 

We believe scholarships are essential to ensure the best people are able to come to London Business School. This initiative will not only make a difference to London Business School, but also to Latin America.  Moreover, we also want to extend the scope of the scholarship to include other full-time programmes such as the Masters in Finance and the Sloan Fellowship Programme.   The goals this initiative wants to achieve are:

•Provide financial relief: As you know, studying in London is a major financial effort and there are few options for Latin Americans to finance their studies.

•Build the Latin America Community at London Business School:  London Business School’s vision is to be the pre-eminent global business school. This scholarship will help Latin Americans to have access to London Business School education.

•Strengthen the London Business School brand in Latin America: We want to help build the London Business School brand in Latin America. We want London Business School to be the first choice for any Latin American pursuing an MBA.

Additionally, the Latin America Regional Advisory Board has already pledged their support.  Now we hope we can count with the support of the alumni of the School. By involving the alumni community, we expect to give them a tangible opportunity to help the School and students of Latin America at the same time.
